Advisory Board
The scientific advisory board consists of acknowledge experts being able to follow the progress and to provide advice. These are experts in the implementation science, organization of healthcare, implementation in dementia care, patient view and palliative care.
Prof. Dr. Richard Grol is professor of Quality Care at the Radboud University Nijmegen and Maastricht University and guest professor at the University of Louvain, Belgium. He is director of IQ healthcare, one of the leading scientific institutes on the field of quality and safety in healthcare in Europe. He was the president of the European Association for Quality in Primary Care.
Prof. Dr. E. Moniz-Cook is a clinical psychologist, specializing in work with older people. She directs an applied research programme in dementia care at the Institute of Rheabilitation, Hull Yprk Medical School and is member of the Research Advisory Committee of the Alzheimer' Society in the UK. She was founder member, and now Co chair, of INTERDEM.
Prof. Dr. R. Woods is a clinical psychologist, director of the Dementia Services Development Centre Wales at Bangor University and of the Wales Dementia and Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network. He is a member of the Medical Scientific Advisory Panels of Alzheimer Europe and Alzheimer's International, and an Ambassador for the Alzheimer' Society in the UK.
Prof. Dr. S. Leatherman is a research professor at the School of Public Health, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and visiting professor of the London School of Economics. She conducts research and policy analysis internationally focusing on quality of care, health system reform, methodologies for evaluating the performance of health care systems, and integrating microfinance and health access interventions in developing countries.
Dr. Jean Georges has been working as the Executive Director for Alzheimer Europe since 1996 and has been the project manager of the various European projects run by the organization.
Dr. Augusto Caraceni is director of Palliative Care Pain Therapy and Rehabilitation at the National Cancer Institute (Fondazione IRCCS) in Milan, Italy. He is also vice president of EAPC (European Association for Palliative Care).
Prof. Dr. W. Moyle has extensive experience in quality of life and quality of care research, in particular in people with dementia and in the development of practice guidelines for people with dementia. She has led an evidence-based practice for older people research agenda in the Research Centre for Clinical and Community Practice Innovation since 2003. Furthermore, she leads the research strand on quality of life and dementia in a National Dementia Collaborative Research Centre, and is a partner in the Eastern Australia Dementia Training and Study Centre.
